Albertus van Brakel
CA (SA), MCom Business Management (UJ), Estate Administration (Unisa)

Albertus enrolled at the old Rand Afrikaanse Universiteit (RAU) during 1978 and completed his BCom Accounting degree full time.
Thereafter he started with his articles at one of the big 5 international audit firms at the time, Arthur Anderson and Company whilst studying for his BCom Honours degree.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant during 1983 and thereafter continued his studies at RAU and obtained his MCom Business Management degree in 1986.
After the completion of his articles he joined Toyota South Africa (TSA) at their head office in Wynberg, Gauteng as the Group Financial Manager reporting to the Group Financial Director.
After a number of years at TSA, he joined HL & H at their head office in Braamfontein as the group’s Strategic Planning Manager. From there he moved on to become the Forestry Financial Manager for the group reporting to the Group Financial Director and Forestry CEO.

During 1994 he left HL & H to venture on his own and started the existing Audit firm AG van Brakel & Associates Incorporated (AGvB INC).
Albertus now focuses on accounting, taxation, management services, estate planning and the administration of deceased Estates.

He completed his diploma in Estate Planning through UNISA during 2007.
Our Staff
Many of our staff members have been with the Company for a long time, some as far back as 1994, and have in excess of 30 years combined experience in general accounting and taxation.
We also have employees who deal with SARS virtually on a full-time basis to ensure the best service for our clients.
Our primary focus at Trigon is to be pro-active. We endeavour to identify possible problems and are instrumental in advising our clients on possible strategies to avoid them.
Our philosophy is to act as Estate Planners to individuals who require expert advice on the Planning and Execution of their personal Estates.
We are passionate about the way business is conducted and therefore see ourselves as YOUR ESTATE PLANNING PARTNERS.
Our services include setting up a proper Estate Plan, preparing your Last Will and Testament and ultimately ensuring peace of mind for you and your family when you are unable to speak for yourself.

AGvB INC has been a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, (SAICA) since our incorporation during 1994.
We are registered with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) and as Tax Practitioners with SARS.
The academic titles of the founding members and staff of the firm includes CA(SA), and MBA, coupled with a Diploma in Estate Planning and Administration. Refer to our team for more details.

Social Responsibility
This NON PROFIT ORGANISATION is very close to our heart and Albertus van Brakel was one of the founding members of this NPO during 2007/8.
Albertus acted as the Financial Director of the NPO for a number of years and was instrumental in the setting up and implementation of financial and management structures.
The primary focus of this NPO is to assist abused mothers with their own children and to teach them life skills and help them to regain their selfworth.
We continue to play a big role in their financial wellbeing and assist the Beneficiaries with sound Estate Planning advice.

Albertus was asked by The Cradle of Hope to become involved in this programme, established in 2012.
We are assisting this NPO with financial and management advice and be there for them as a sound board for their new challenges.
Their main focus will be to establish a nursery school in a poor community in order to break the chain of poverty, non-education where children in poor communities are at a disadvantage with regard to pre-and school education due to a lack of money.
The Cradle of Hope manages this programme.
